inqaba biotec™ is a unique South African Genomics company that was established in 2002. Inqaba is Xhosa for “rare and precious” and pays homage to our origin. Our aim is to better support the field of Genomics as part of our contribution to further develop Science and Technology in Africa. Inqaba provides key services and is a distributor of a variety of reagents and instruments in Life Science laboratories.
With the arrival of our PacBio Sequel IIe, we are now able to sequence and assemble large genomes like never before in Africa and we want to leverage this ground-breaking technology to better understand our continent’s biodiversity.
We are therefore offering the chance for 5 different species in Africa to be sequenced with up to 3 individual samples of the same species for free. Of course, you need to submit a proposal and this time, we are letting the community decide later on, so get your friends, family members, students, collaborators and even your neighbour to support your submission by visiting our YouTube channel and upvoting your submission.
